Bright, bold shades for Spring 2013! I keep worrying every season that neon’s moment in the fluorescent sun will come to an end, but it’s still alive and well. Fenton (aka Dana Lorenz) is known for mixing high and low pieces and collaborating with all sorts of retailers (she brought some rocksteady cool to J. Crew a couple of years ago), so her mix of neons and metals is just the kind of controlled chaos we’ve come to love from her. Her SS13 collection is all about big chains and chunky statement jewels. They’re like huge pieces of candy – be sure not to wear them around fashion-hungry tots! The lion and eagle lend a regal sense to the Shinde cuffs and charm bracelets, but I love them the most on the necklaces. The ornate touch is old-time elegance, only in dazzling neon hues. Wear these jewels out to a concert – even under the flashiest of strobe lights, you’ll be glowing!
