Made Her Think Smashed Talons Pave Necklace: This Necklace Nails It
By Jewel Snob Tina
April 10, 2012

This Brooklyn-based line that Kelly fell for a few months ago is not only making me think, it’s making me see alluring pave stones in an entirely new light. It’s called the Smashed Talons necklace, and it’s not hard to realize why: dragon-lady talon nails have never looked so chic. I’m so over seeing outrageously long, dagger-sharp (and come on, creepy!) nails on pretty, young girls (Rihanna, I’m talking to you), so this necklace is an ideal compromise.

Ultra-pointy teardrops, so defined they are almost menacing, frame your neck and will no doubt set off your face, hair, and décolletage. You know I have a weakness for violent-looking jewels. This sparkler is just threatening enough to lure me right in. On ShopBop for $1,555.

Pair with: This accessory calls for a shoe with spirit. Go for a bold ankle-strap style and frame your ankle as well as your neck. Barbara Bui’s pink colorblock take ($885), Maiyet’s varying-strap sensation ($795), Gianvito Rossi’s play on the tuxedo ($775), Givenchy’s minimal-chic sandal ($1,070), and Manolo Blahnik’s raffia kitten-heel ($675) would each look fab in its own way.
